Meet Catherine Vaquiz…
I was born in California and moved to Chicago about 25 years ago. My mother is from Guatemala and my father is from El Salvador. Currently, I live with my mother, grandmother, and younger brother. My family is the best thing that has happened to me and I am lucky to be close with them. Over summer 2021, I completed my Associate of Science degree. This upcoming semester, I plan on majoring in Bioengineering. Even thought I would like to study out of state, I should stay close to my family. I want to establish myself professionally and help my family move to a more excellent area and home. Also, I am an esthetician and my job is to help people improve the health and appearance of their skin.
Currently, I am the Campus Activities Director for Wright College and I am also an officer for the American Chemical Society Wright College Student Chapter. Recently, I became the President of the Latin American Student Organization (LASO). LASO dedicates to the Advancement of our Culture and Preservation of our Identity.
